House Dems Expand Union Power

Thursday afternoon House Democrats voted to pass a bill called the Protect the Right to Organize Act, referred to otherwise as the PRO Act.

One the main purposes of the the PRO Act is to, “end worker misclassification and stop employers from denying workers benefits by doing so.” (Fox News)  The implications of the law, if passed, would mean the end of right-to-work in various states across the country.  Furthermore, a more controversial part of the law states that illegal immigrants would reserve the right to receive back pay and damages if their union finds a breach between the employee and employer agreement.

This Act comes to fruition despite falling union membership rates across the country.
