IMF Prepared to Respond to Pandemic

The International Monetary Fund’s Managing Director announced they are prepared to step up and provide financial aid to countries in response to the global recession caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The IMF is prepared to release its $1 trillion lending capacity to combat this emerging crisis, as 80 countries have already requested aid from the Fund. The IMF said the economic output should be able to recover by 2021. Many countries have been granted financial support and have been granted fiscal actions to improve the health care systems and aid companies and individuals that have been greatly impacted by this crisis.
