NY Flattening the Curve on COVID-19?

On Monday afternoon Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York suggested that the state may have already flattened the curve.

In his statement, he says that deaths caused by COVID-19 have stayed flat for two days and the total number of new hospitalizations has gone down in numbers.  While he is cautiously optimistic, Governor Cuomo states that it is not clear whether the virus is coming to a plateau and the number of infections detected per day will continue or whether it is going down.

Despite the positive signs in the data, Cuomo has stated that in order to maintain the progress, individuals must continue to follow social distancing guidelines.
